February 2024
Knox Newsletter
February was an amazing month at Knox. ASB hosted the Glow Light Dance and students had a great time. Our Soccer and Volleyball teams finished the season strong. Students are getting excited for Spring sports (flag football, wrestling and cheer).
The team at Mindful Murals completed our Bulldog Mural and it looks incredible. Thank you to +MVMNT (The Positive Movement Foundation) for sponsoring our mural.
Thank you to Ms. Hodge who is doing an amazing job creating our Knox School Garden. Thank you to +MVMNT for sponsoring this project.
All of our students completed ELPAC (English Learner Progress Testing) testing and SBAC state testing will begin in April.
The last week of March will be our annual STEM (Science. Technology. Engineering and Math) week. Students will engage in project-based learning with their 5th period class.
Great job to all of our students that have been working on clearing their absences during the weekend.
Reminder that all 8th grade students must be passing their classes in Power School on May 13th to participate in the Promotion Ceremony. Each student that meets the criteria will get a limited amount of tickets to bring guests to the event. We will not be selling additional tickets, as space is limited in the Lincoln Theater. In addition, the next grading period will determine LOP (Loss of Privileges) eligibility for End of the Year activities. Please remind your student to clear their absences and to get to class on time.
Please see below for some more of our awesome activities from February at Knox.

Dear Knox PrimeTime Families,
The month of February has now ended and we are now going into another great month here at Knox Middle School. So far we have had lots of exciting activities and have much more fun plans coming soon for all students and families!
For this month, on March 14th, students will be able to go to Balboa Park for Geocaching where they will be able to hone their exploration and navigation skills with GPS systems to find many prizes. Also for this month, students will have the chance to explore different zoo animals right here at Knox Middle School! The animal conservation program Zovargo, will be bringing different animals here at PrimeTime on March 26th, for your students to interact with. For another fun activity, families are invited, via Zoom, to watch their students compete in an academic challenge against other schools on March 28th. Winners of this challenge will receive a trophy and Pizza Party, wish us luck!
